7-10-20   THOUGHTS

Some passage areas in God’s word are what I call dense!  They are packed with significant thoughts and words.  I often highlight areas to show what I think is important.  When I highlight a dense passage area, it’s all highlighted.  Oftentimes, you will find NUTSHELL THINKING in these areas...   How to think, who to be, proper living...  all tightly summed up!

Col 3:12-17     So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience;  13  bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you.  14  Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity. 15  Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful.  16  Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.  17  Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.

I could guide my life with the above!   I could teach the principles of Christian living!  It is worthy of our repeated attention as we walk in this life.  Let me close with a focus on one thing above that is repeated over and over in the text.   Phil, you have been forgiven by God through Christ Jesus,  don’t you dare withhold FORGIVENESS FROM ANOTHER!
Read Matt 18:21-35.

My Prayer:
Dear Lord and God, thank you for forgiveness.  Thank you for your eternal plan and wisdom in Christ Jesus.  Help us learn compassion, and humility, and gentleness and patience.  Teach us to be thankful in all and help the peace of Christ absorb us.  May your word dwell within us.
In Jesus name                      Amen
